May Birchbox

The end of the school year is fast approaching, and I have been super busy subbing. The teachers want to use their personal days in the warm weather. (I don't blame them!) So again, I'm sorry for the lack of blogs this week. I have literally been passed out early every single night. Today, I have my May Birchbox to show you, and a special surprise they sent me! Here is what was in my box this month!

CoTZ| Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40- This is a tinted sunscreen that leaves a matte finish. This would be great for days when I don't want a full face of makeup but still want to be protected from the sun.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty| Black Eyeliner- I have a ton of black eyeliners, so I think this one will be going to a friend. This is said to be smudge proof, and lasts all day.

Nexxus| Color Assure Primer, Shampoo, Conditioner- This is one of the most unique things in my box. There is a pre-wash primer that you put in your hair to help protect your color, then a special shampoo and conditioner. I'm excited to try this and see how it helps my color last in the Summer.

Noya Beauty| Lip Gloss in Summertime Peach- This is a natural gloss that has cocoa butter. The color is a great neutral, and would look great on its own or with your favorite lipstick!

Lifestyle Extra: SmartyPants Gummy Vitamins- Being a teacher, I should probably take a multi-vitamin everyday. (Strep and chicken pox is going around now...YIKES!) I can definitely see myself taking a gummy vitamin over something I had to take in pill form.

I received an extra special surprise from Birchbox this month! I  am a member of their Birchbox Aces program. They sent me this adorable makeup pouch! See, it pays to fill out your surveys!

What did you get in your box this month? Are you a member of their Aces program? Leave me a comment and let me know, I'd love to hear from you!

If you'd like a Birchbox of your own, you can use my referral link to sign up!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (we li

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar
