Remember this post when I introduced you to Coby Greer? Seriously, if you haven't checked him out yet, you have my permission to leave this blog and check him out. Hi Coby!  He released " Streets of Baltimore " as a tribute to Bobby Bare on August 4. (You guys, I'm obsessed! Such a great song!) Do you remember when I did this post about Bon Jovi's new CD? I gave my thoughts on each song, and then gave my overall impressions of the album at then end. Well, let's do that again shall we? Do you remember this series? It's been a while. Do people even still put music on iPods anymore? Anyway, pull out whatever music device you use, because it is time to update it with some new tunes! I'd like to introduce you to Coby Greer. Doesn't his name just sound like a singer/songwriter name?  I Image didn't find Coby, rather he found me. He actually followed me on Twitter, (I'm @mandiiduke) and I am SO glad he did! I checked him and his music out, and was hooked. Coby is a native of Alabama, but now lives in Music City. (That's Nashville!) Audiences have enjoyed his singing since he was 14 years old. Coby has that great traditional country sound, but with a modern twist. To me, his sound is that of the country music I grew up with: songs that tell a story, with a catchy "gets stuck in your head" tune. Think Clint Black, Randy Travis, and Clay Walker with a whole lotta Coby mixed in. He's worked stages with many of the legends of count...

JJ Watt is a defensive player for the Houston Texans. He works out like a fiend, and eats 6000-9000 calories a day! What?! Dude is a house. I'm pretty sure that if he was at the finish line of a marathon I could probably get there. I might be bloodied, bruised, needing an oxygen tank, AND a stretcher, but I could get there! Anyway, when I am working it out on the treadmill I need some things to keep me going. Otherwise, I get irritable and want to stop. Sometimes, I will use my treadmill time to pray. I know a lot of people in times of need, and I will pray for them. Pray for healing, strength, and wisdom. It is just me, the treadmill, and God. I absolutely LOVE Michael Buble's CD entitled Christmas . He does duets with The Puppini Sisters, Shania Twain, and Naturally 7. My favorite song on this album is Cold December Night.  David Archuleta's Christmas from the Heart has a nice blend of upbeat songs, and slow songs. He also does an incredible job on Ave Maria. Amy Grant's Home for Christmas is one that I almost always listen to first when I pull my CD's out. I was first attracted to this CD because it has Grown Up Christmas List on it which is one of my favorite songs. I also love Breath of Heaven.  Let the Yuletide Ring has the entire Nutcracker Suite on it. In my opinion, there is nothing better than Christmas music. I have found myself listening to the same CD's year after year. I wanted to share my favorites with you! I have a lot so I am splitting this into 2 parts! You can never go wrong with Christmas music. I have a wide range of favorites, and I'm sure one of these will suit your Christmas mood! *NSYNC's Home for Christmas is a great upbeat Christmas CD. My favorite song is the ever popular Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday's. They also do a great job on O Holy Night, which is acappella. 98* This Christmas is also one of my absolute favorites! If you are proposing to your girfriend on Christmas, you will want to play This Gift. It is an absolutely beautiful song perfect for the occasion! Jingle Bells is all instrumental. *Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. Image found here I have another new artist for you to enjoy today! Right around the time I discovered Alex Goot, I discovered Landon Austin. (*By discovered, I mean found them on YouTube.*) I have definitely caught up on his videos this past week or two. I'm just going to gush right now and say that Landon is just too adorable for words. Okay? You want more adorable-ness? Check out his vlog channel. Adorable! (Now I am banning myself to use "adorable" anymore in this post!) Landon is a pretty accomplished young artist. He competed in the Doritos Crash the Superbowl in 2007, and was a top 3 finalist in 2008. He recorded a professional music video for his song "Waitin." Landon and the other finalists were flown to Phoenix to perform during all the Superbowl festivities. Today I want to introduce you to a musical artist that I have been loving lately. His name is Alex Goot. I can't even tell you how I found him. He just appeared in the sidebar of my YouTube profile. Well, I am so glad he did! He is so talented! Image found here Alex began putting videos on YouTube in 2007. If you watch his videos, you will see that he plays a multitude of different instruments. Piano, guitar, and drums, as well as several other instruments. Lucky for you, he's going on tour this summer. You can find all of that information here .
