Dancing Through Life

Nine years ago, I was a shy 18 year old heading off to college. I had never lived with another person I didn't know before. I had never shared a communal bathroom before. I was not the type of child who went to sleepovers when I was little. I was, (and still am) a homebody. My parent's had tried to get me to stay home to save money, but I was adamant that I wanted to experience this "college life" and that meant staying on campus. (Luckily, home was about 15 minutes away!) The first few weeks were really tough. My roommate and I got along great, in fact, I wouldn't let her leave my side. I'm being 100% serious! We went pretty much everywhere together when we didn't have class. We went to the dining hall, bookstore, movie nights in the auditorium. When she went, I went. We were cramped in our tiny dorm room so learning to live with another person was a big adjustment. There were several times where I said "Mandii, what exactly did you get yourself in...

Life Lately

I figured I would let you know that I am still here!! Honestly, I have been really busy with subbing, and some of my weekends are full that I haven't had time to sit down and really plan my posts out. However, I am trying to improve upon that. I just wanted to share a few things that I have been up to lately! As always, thank you so much for reading, commenting, pinning, sharing etc my blog. I really appreciate it! (If you follow my Instagram account, these pictures will probably look familiar!) I was tired of my "winter" hair, so I called my stylist and she fixed me right up! I'm a little blonder, and I LOVE it!! A local restaurant has $5 burgers on Tuesday's. My new favorite has been the Greek burger. It has red onion, feta cheese, and spinach in a Greek dressing, served with fries. On this particular night, the restaurant played Uptown Funk twice. It was the perfect Tuesday. In college basketball news, my beloved Dukies swept their arch riva...

Being Social Media Appropriate

*Sorry this post is extra late today, we had some severe weather roll through last night and knocked out our power.* Do you ever feel like you know a little too much about your friends on Facebook? Did you really need to know that they just "checked in" at a location from FourSquare? What about the friends that post inappropriate song lyrics or vulgarity on Twitter? Being social media appropriate is not just a common courtesy, it is common sense. I am going to give you some DO's and DON'T's for social media. Facebook DO's and DON'T's: DO connect with family and friends DO post pictures of family events DO "like" pages of your favorite restaurants, or blogs  ;) DON'T post inappropriate lyrics or pictures Twitter DO's and DON'T's: DO interact with your favorite celebrities or family DON'T post vulgarity or inappropriate things on Twitter DON'T repeatedly ask a celebrity to follow you. If they want ...

Soundtrack to Your Life Tag

I was going to do a great Spring post today, but the weather is cold, and blustry. So in my mind, it's still winter. Does anyone remember this tag? I think it was popular back my sophomore year in college so around 2008. The idea of this tag is to put your ipod on shuffle and write down each song that comes on for each category. Let's see how accurate mine is! Opening Credits: Make You Feel My Love ~ Adele First Day at School: Colors of the Wind ~ Vanessa Williams Falling in Love: One Song ~ J. Mark McVey Breaking Up: Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee ~ Stockard Channing Prom: God Bless the Broken Road ~ Rascal Flatts Mental Breakdown: All Out of Love ~ Keith Harkin Flashbacks: Orange Colored Sky ~ Natalie Cole Getting Back Together: You're the One I Love: ~ The Carpenters Wedding Scene: Only Hope ~ Mandy Moore Final Battle: Someone to Watch Over Me ~ Chris Botti Death Scene:   Hopelessly Devoted to You ~ Olivia Newton John Funeral Song: Jesus Take the ...
