What's Up Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Shay to say "What's Up" on this Wednesday. I think linkups are a great way to get to know the writer behind the blog. Plus, in my case since I've been slacking a little on the blog front, it gives you a chance to get to know me better!
What I'm Eating This Week:

My parents made spaghetti sauce, so I am going to be eating some spaghetti! I have been hungry for tacos, so I'm putting that on the menu as well! The cooler weather is here, so I am thinking that one night is a good soup and sandwich night!

What I'm Reminiscing About:

I have got the travel bug, so I have been thinking about my trips to New York City recently. I'm definitely a country girl at heart, but I do love to spend a weekend in the Big Apple sightseeing.
What I'm Loving:

Right now, I am loving Fall. I love the cozy clothes, the warm drinks, the leaves changing, and the upcoming holiday's approaching.

What I've Been Up To:

The most boring answer ever? Working!

What I'm Dreading:

I am dreading doing the Summer/Fall clothes switch out. I haven't done it yet, but I dread doing it every season.

What I'm Working On:

Can I say trying to get this blog back on track? I am also trying to get some Christmas presents ordered, and getting back on track with my fitness routine!

What I'm Excited About:

I am excited about decorating for Christmas. I have a few ideas that I want to try this year and I can't wait to start decorating and cooking for Christmas!

What I'm Watching/Reading:

I have been loving that my Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. shows are back on. They are drama filled, and it takes me a good 10 minutes after the show is over to calm down. I have been slacking on some of my shows because I have fallen asleep before they come on. Oops! I have also been reading the Beaches and Brides collection of stories. They are faith based, and just really sweet stories. I have 2 more that I bought from the collection that I want to read as well!

What I'm Listening To:

We had our first choir practice after church on Sunday, so I am listening to the CD so I can learn the songs. Which in turn makes me want to start decorating for Christmas.

What I'm Wearing:

Considering I haven't done the Summer to Fall clothes switch, I have been mixing and matching items in my closet to give me warmth without looking 'Summery."

What I'm Doing This Weekend:

I have plans to go to Ohio's Amish country! I am also playing in church on Sunday!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month:

Thanksgiving is definitely on that list! My dad's birthday is also the 27th, so I will be celebrating with my family as well!

What Else Is New:

The pecan pie is for my uncle and I...we don't like pumpkin pie!
Not much! :)

What Is My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe:

Oh my goodness! How do I choose just one? I love everything! You will have to come back to the blog closer to Thanksgiving to see some of my favorites!

What are you up to this Wednesday? Leave me a comment and let me know! I can't wait to hear from you!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

It's Been Awhile...

Hi! Do you remember me and this little blog? I've been thinking about starting this blog back up again, and I am just going to jump in with both feet and go for it! In the past what, 4 years since the last post, I have learned a lot, and have a lot to share! So if you'll bear with me, I'd love to share some fun tips and tricks and recipes with you here on this little space on the internet.  I will give you a little reintroduction of myself.  I'm Mandii. I'm a small town girl full of random information. Sports facts, check. Fashion tips, oh yeah, I've got those a plenty! Recipes? You're speaking my language. I love all things faith, family, fashion, sports, and food related. Which is exactly what you will find on this space. I love to travel even though I don't do it nearly enough.  I don't know if I am going to commit to a full 5 days on here yet. I'll play it by ear, and if you'll stick with me, I think we can do some great things here!  I...

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar...
