Model Co Party Proof Lipstick Review

That was a title and a half huh? Shockingly, when I ordered my Birchbox goodies I ordered these lipsticks. I know what you are saying, "Mandii, you HATE lipsticks, why on Earth did you get those?"  I am kidding. I think you readers know me well enough to know that I LOVE lipstick and can't get enough! So when I saw these matte lipsticks in a 3 pack...I had to have them! Model Co is an Australian brand, and these lipsticks smell amazing! I purchased the Classic collection, and it came with 3 colors everyone needs in their lipstick arsenal.

Red Velvet, is just that. A beautiful, rich red. This is a true red, and not a tomato, orange-y red.
Peony, is a deep pink. It is not fuchsia, but a dark pink with hints of red.
Disco Fever, is a bright coral. It's bright.

Now, these Model Co lipsticks are matte. They are matte, with the slightest bit of sheen to them.Which means the staying power on these is incredible. I have found that Red Velvet, and Peony stay the longest. Disco Fever, the color wears off, but a stain is left on your lips afterward. I wore the red velvet shade through dinner, and drinking and it lasted! The difference between these lipsticks and other matte lipsticks, is how incredibly smooth these feel on your lips. These feel absolutely amazing on your lips, almost like a lip balm.

This collection is also available in neutrals! If you want to get your hands on these lip colors, you can get these in the Birchbox shop for $24.

Have you tried these lipsticks from Model Co? Did you receive a sample of them in your Birchbox? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
