Catch Up with Me

I figured I would give you a brief glimpse into what has been going on since I've been gone so long! I'll give you the Reader's Digest version, since it has been a while! Some of the things I mention are blog posts in and of itself, so you'll be hearing about them in due time!

October 2017 I was able to spend two glorious weeks in North Myrtle Beach! It was pure bliss. We had beautiful weather, and even checked off some things off of our Myrtle bucket list! My parents and I were able to go to Charleston! Seriously, this place is absolutely beautiful! I am going to need to go back there ASAP!

November 2017 was celebrating Thanksgiving and my dad's birthday!

December 2017 was my 30th birthday, Christmas, and all of the fun activities that happened in between!

January 2018 is where things go awry. Unfortunately only 10 days into the new year I was in a car accident. I'm still dealing with the repercussions of that. (Don't worry, I'll do a whole separate blog post on this!)

My accident had me laying pretty low for all of January and February. In March however, I was able to go to Pittsburgh to see DUKE in the NCAA tournament! My hopes and dreams literally came true when they announced that Duke received the Pittsburgh region. I was able to see both the Thursday and Saturday games.

April was Easter, and May was the end of school. In June, Mom and I were in full on flower mode, and one day we made THREE trips to pick up flowers from our favorite flower/produce auction.

July was fireworks, Tim Tebow, and Michael Jackson. (More on that later!)

August, is where we are today!

Hope you liked this little throwback into the past few months! It is so good to be back blogging!!!

P.S. I'm so sorry for the amount of selfies in this post.

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
