Ulta Haul

I go on makeup kicks every now and again. I’ll get stuck in a rut, and then try something new and want all kinds of new makeup. I’ve made a few trips to Ulta recently, and wanted to share with you what I’ve been buying!

I almost always buy things on sale at Ulta during their 21 days of beauty!

The first thing I bought was a total impulse purchase. I went to the Philosophy section of the store and stopped and smelled their fragrance Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. Oh my gosh, it smells divine! I don’t even know how to describe it to you. It’s vanilla with warm musk, but still fresh and clean smelling. It is perfect for all seasons. I only bought a small size, but I will be buying the full size!

The next thing I bought was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. I needed something that is a little bit longer lasting, and this fit the bill. I probably won’t use this every day, but only on days where I need them to last longer than the average workday.

I also bought three lip products. Listen, I need new lip products like I need a hole in the head, but they are my drug of choice. I bought a Buxom Metalix lipstick. It is a plum shade with little glitter mixed in. You can’t feel the glitter on your lips, but it adds a nice sheen to the lipstick. The next lip product I bought was a Bare Minerals lip trio. I bought the Go Bold or Go Bare set. These matte liquid lipsticks are beautiful. They feel like nothing on your lips, and come in a beautiful nude shade, a dark pink, or classic red. I also bought a Lorac lip stain, that was significantly on sale. I will be doing reviews on these makeup products in the near future.

I also stocked up on one of my favorite high end mascaras. Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes, is my favorite high end mascara. I have never been disappointed in this, and gives me full lashes and it lasts all day without flaking off on my cheeks.

I tried out Mally’s Eyeshadow stick, and so far I really like it! When I was swatching these colors and I went to take them off and they wouldn’t come off!! I figured if they stayed on my hand, then they would stay on my eyelids. So far, I’ve only worn it one time, but it definitely lasted!

I also bought a new teasing brush. I enjoy a little volume in my hair, and while my regular comb was doing the job, it just needed a little more. The beauty of this brush is that it is a boar bristle, and will grab my hair better. I can’t wait to use this along with my comb and get that volume that I long for!

Everything that I bought with the exception of the perfume was on sale. Score! You should check out Ulta for their 21 days of beauty, and their clearance items! You might walk out with some great deals! I believe the next event is usually in February.

All of these products will be reviewed either in an individual post, or as a group post. I want to use them a little bit more to get my opinions on them and then I'll share them with you!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar...
