November 2013 Birchbox

I swear that little pink box can cheer me up anytime! I wasn't feeling well when I received this, but looking at the goodies inside instantly cheered me up. Here is what was in my November box!

Color Club|Nail Polish: Dark N' Stormy- Oh this color is absolutely gorgeous! It is a beautiful dark gray, that is slightly metallic. I envision this with a sparkly accent nail, and it will look absolutely Fall/Winter like.

Dr. Lipp|Original Nipple balm for Lips- This was originally used for new mothers to help with nursing woes, but they swear by this stuff. Who wouldn't want an emollient balm for your lips for the dog days of winter when your lips are super chapped? I'm excited to try this out!

It's a 10|Miracle Leave In Conditioner- SO, SO, SO excited about this! I have heard rave reviews about this product, but never have tried it! You readers know how much I love to try different hair products! Definitely be watching for a review once I have had time to sample this!

Juicy Couture|Viva la Juicy Noir- I like how this smells. It isn't heavy and seems like a good Fall/Winter scent.

Ghiradelli|Toffee Crunch- This is a full sized chocolate bar y'all! Who doesn't love that? I absolutely can't wait to savor small pieces of this at a time. I have the flavor Toffee Crunch.

In addition to the samples, they also included a gift guide with items from the Birchbox shop! It has gifts for the guys in your life as well.

I'm so anxious to see what you got in your Birchbox! Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar...
