Mary Kay Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush Review

I received this product as a Christmas gift from my aunt. I was wobbling back and forth between getting a Clarisonic, and decided that I'm not as regimented as I should be with skin care. I didn't want to waste my money on one. So when I opened up this on Christmas, I was so glad I got it!

*This is not a Clarisonic.*

From Mary Kay:

Two Spin Speeds
Two spin speeds allow you to customize your experience. Just a push of a button switches from a lower speed to a higher one, reaching over 400 rotations per minute.  Both speeds provide gentle massaging yet deep cleansing that’s suitable for daily use on all skin types, even sensitive skin and acne-prone skin.
Unique Design
The nylon bristles of the brush head feature polished tips with rounded ends so they feel supersoft against your skin.  Gently exfoliates and helps improve skin texture without being abrasive to skin. Unique angled design hugs the contours of your face to help thoroughly clean.
Easy to Use
Take it wherever you go.  Waterproof: Use at the sink, in the shower or in the bath.  The two brush heads included provide six months of skin pampering when used every day.
When I first received this, I used the low setting on it for a week, and then made my way to the high setting. After using this since Christmas, I can honestly say that I love it! There was a slight purging period of my skin, but since then I have had hardly any breakouts! This not only makes my skin smoother, but also helps with the application of my makeup.
I do not use this to take my makeup off, but I use this as a post cleanse to make sure my skin is really clean. I use this with my L'Oreal Go 360 anti breakout cleanser, and it has worked fine. I just take it in the shower, add the cleanser, make sure my face is wet, and turn it on. I spend about 15 seconds on each area of my face: cheeks, forehead, T-zone, and chin. I love using the slower speed around my nose area, which is often a place where I get breakouts. When I get out of the shower, I am always amazed at how soft my skin feels.  I love that this is small enough to travel with, however I wish that the brush came with a case to protect the bristles.

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
