April Ipsy Bag

After a long day at work, I love coming home to my monthly subscription boxes. They brighten my day, and I always look forward to ripping them open and looking at what I received!! I want to show you what was in my April Ipsy bag, there were a lot of good samples in there!!

Lather|Ultra Light Face Lotion: I can always use a light moisturizer. Especially in the summer months when my skin gets dry from being outside. Once I try it out, I will let you know my thoughts!

The Balm|Nude Dude Eyeshadow: First of all, I love The Balm! I received the shade Flirty, and it is a pretty shimmery purple/brown color. I think with a matte shade in the crease this would look so pretty. I have the Meet Matt(e) Nude palette, and seeing this beautiful shadow makes me want to get the full palette!

Mica Beauty|Eyeshadow Primer: I am excited to try this! The texture on this primer is a little sticky, so I am curious to see how this holds the shadow on my oily lids, This is also in a pot, which could make getting it a little tricky.I will let you know my thoughts!

Mullein&Sparrow|Tinted Lip Balm: Before I start out, this lip balm smells like a Tootsie Pop. In the pot this is a deep red color, but on the lips it gives a sheer wash of color. Again, this is in a pot so Getting to it could prove tricky. (I hate the product getting under my nails)

Hikari|Blush: This color is a pretty matte coral color. I have the shade Tango! In the summer this will look gorgeous on a tan. It can be a touch bright, so if I wanted to wear it now I will just have to use a light hand. As an added bonus, this is full size!

These were the products in my Ipsy bag for April. What did you get in your bag? I'd love to hear about it! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
