What I've been Loving Lately: Matte Lipsticks

There was a time back in high school that I only wore colored lip gloss. Oh, how things have changed. In case you didn't know, I am a lip product junkie. I cannot get enough lip products! Recently, I have been loving lip products that are matte. There is something uniquely classy about a matte lip product. No shimmer, no gloss, just pure pigmented color. I definitely have acquired a few favorites, and want to share them with you. (Some of these you might have seen reviews for, and they will be linked in the post!)
My first favorite matte lip products are those from Wet N Wild! I have three of their matte lip products, and I absolutely LOVE them! The first color I have is Cherry Picking. This is a beautiful raspberry color. Next is Wine Room, and it is a deep mauve pink. Finally, the last color is Cherry Bomb, and this is a deep merlot color. I plan on wearing this in the summer, because this color is very similar to Pantone's color of the year, Marsala!

My next two favorites should not come as a surprise. Revlon's Matte balms are a major love of mine. I own the shades Sultry and Striking. Sultry is a beautiful rose color, and Striking is a tomato red. These apply like butter, and stay put for a good while. I'd say they last 4 hours or so. These are just like the Revlon

Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains that I love so dearly!

My last favorites are the Model Co Party Proof lipsticks. These stain your lips slightly, and come in a nice variety of colors!

Are you following this matte lip trend? Do you have favorites that I should know about? Leave me a comment and let me know! I'd love to hear from you!

P.S. Don't forget to get your taxes in today!!!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
