Friday Favorites

It’s Friday! Hallelujah! Is anyone on Halloween candy overload? We never get trick or treaters, so we don’t have a need to buy any candy. Here are a few of my favorites for the week!

My hairdresser is a saint and magician. She didn’t have any power, so my dad and I both got our haircuts via flashlights and lanterns. This is my hair air dried, in the darkness. It finished drying on the way home.

Also, how is it November already?! Seriously! Not going to lie though, I’m loving the Hallmark Christmas movies already!!

Another favorite are Karen Kingsbury books. I have the Above the Line series, and I have fallen in love with the Baxter family. I took this picture to keep in my phone for reference when I go shopping so I know what books I need to get to keep reading. However my “to read” list is quite long, but I will read them all eventually. I mean, reading is way better than spending time on our phones and iPads right?!

I think this weekend my mom and I are going to head to a craft show at the high school I went to. We went last year and had a great time, even if we didn’t buy anything! I want to thank Andrea for the link up as usual! What do you have planned for this weekend? Leave me a comment below!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness! In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!* :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show! You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6, parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!" He said "hi" back and asked me my name. Hi! Do you remember me and this little blog? I've been thinking about starting this blog back up again, and I am just going to jump in with both feet and go for it!
