Life Lately

I wanted to give you all an update on life so far in the new year! I am doing really well on my resolution of reading the Bible every day. I am doing it on the Bible app, and while some days I read it on the app, I usually just use the app to see what I am supposed to read and then actually open my Bible to read it. Then I just check it off when I am done! The one thing I like about using this particular one year study, is there is a devotion before each days reading. By reading this before I begin, I have understood what I am reading so much better!

I am waiting on a few new products to get here, but when they do I begin my quest to lose some weight. Once they get here, I can go ahead and begin! I have some quick workouts that I pulled off of YouTube that I am going to use to get started. Then I actually have P90 that I’d like to use to continue the weight loss. Starting small, then going big. Haha! (P.S. P90 is the less hard version of P90X. The workouts seem effective, and not too challenging!)

Oh, I have a car now! I have started to drive, and am getting more comfortable each time. I am driving with my parents in the car with me, just until I get used to driving with my “new normal” neck. Once I get to a point where I feel confident enough to go solo, I will but for now, this seems to be working.

In a little less than a week, my dad and I are going to the Pitt vs. Duke game. I am fully prepared to go into “enemy territory” and cheer on my Blue Devils!! It’s a 9:00 game, so I will be consuming all the coffee during work. I took the next day off, just in case there is weather and we would be extra late getting home. I am SO EXCITED! I plan on wearing all the Duke blue in the next few days to help me get ready!

What have you been up to lately? Leave me a comment below!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
