Bon Jovi Concert

On Thursday I went to the Bon Jovi "Because We Can" tour. This was my 5th Bon Jovi concert. In my honest opinion, I think that this was one of the best concerts I've been to. The whole concert lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. And by 2 hours and 45 minutes, I mean they did not stop except for a brief 5 minute costume change. They sprinkled in some new songs in with the classics.

Jon's down there!!
They played a lot of songs from their "Lost Highway" and "The Circle" albums, as well as "Blood on Blood," and "Someday I'll be Saturday Night." They didn't forget about the classics that got them to where they are now either. Jon really knows how to work the crowd. Flash the mega watt smile, do the hip shake, stare into the crowd and watch us scream type thing. Let's face it, when he does that, we're basically putty in his hands.

A few thoughts:

  1. Watching Jon shake maracas is a religious experience. Goodness can that man shake those!
  2. Amen will be my favorite song off the new CD. It is their own version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
  3. I liked the affordable ticket prices they offered. Would I still prefer to sit on the floor, YES! However, it was nice to have options...especially knowing what I now know. (see below!)
At the end of the show Jon said "We'll see you again this year." Uh, what? We had deduced that the statement meant another concert, so that was the topic of conversation on the way home. Guess what?! They are coming back for another concert! Guess who is going to be stalking their website until I see some ticket info?  ME! I'm not sure I can contain my excitement!

No new blog tomorrow, look for one on Monday! As Jon would say, Have A Nice Day!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
