Memories Behind my Clothes: New York City Edition

I absolutely love New York City. My love affair started when I watched the movie Serendipity. I first went to the city for my 16th birthday. I went to Radio City, Empire State Building, Central Park, and Serendipity to name a few! A few years after that, I went again. This time I stopped at Carnegie Deli, John's Pizza, Serendipity (again), Top of the Rock and the Statue of Liberty.

Even though I am a country girl, I love spending a weekend in a big city like New York. The item of clothing I am going to talk about today is a purple jacket that I wore to NYC!

Brooklyn Bridge!!

In this jacket, I ate my first Nathan's hot dog. I got to see the Brooklyn Bridge, and Chelsea Piers. I remember riding in the bus trying to get to Chinatown in this jacket. I remember going to the Winter Garden, and looking at the construction of the Freedom Tower wearing this jacket.

This is just a simple jacket that I bought from JC Penney. How can it hold so many memories?

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness! In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side.
