Show and Tell: Organizational Tips and Tricks

It's Tuesday, and that means another edition of Show and Tell with Andrea! Today, we are sharing our best Organizational Tips and Tricks!

I will admit that I am not the most organized person. However, I'm trying to get my act together! Haha! This summer, I completed some projects, and it made a world of difference! You can read about them here!

Here is a look at last week!
I wanted to share with you a few of my tips and tricks that I have developed, and have helped me immensely!

*The lighting on my pictures are terrible! I'm sorry about that!

First, having a planner has really helped me! In my planner, I have an area where I can write down all of my substitute work days. Then there is a week at a glance section where I can write down my TV shows, Duke games, appointments, etc. I tried to make my planner colorful, and color coordinate things. Pink is for blog posts, Blue is for Duke games, Green for TV shows. Having, and using my planner has helped me stay on track with my blog posts, and just organizing my life in general. If you don't have a planner, I cannot recommend having one enough!!

The second part of organization that I completed recently is organizing my makeup area! Being a makeup hoarder, I have accumulated a lot of different products. I've purged, and given away some products to friends that would suit their looks. Before, I had eyeliners mixed in with my brushes, foundations and blushes mixed together. It was a mess.

I bought a three drawer organizer, and lipstick/brush holder at TJ Max. My mom had a divided clear organizer that she didn't want anymore, so I snagged it right up! I put my brushes, brow pencil, spooly brush, tweezers, eyelash curler, and mascaras in the clear organizer.

The three drawer organizer is where things get really organized!

The top drawer has blushes, highlighters, and concealers. The middle drawer has small eye palettes, and the third drawer has eyeliners.

On top of the drawers, I have a section where I keep my contacts, eye primers, mini samples of foundations, etc. With my bigger eye palettes, I have those in a different location, but still close by!

Having all of my makeup streamlined and organized, it makes getting ready ready a breeze. I know where everything is, and I don't have to dig for a particular product.

My tips for organizing your makeup area is to categorize everything. Place like items together. Put most used items within reaching distance, and keep items that you don't use that often towards the back.

Do you feel less stressed when everything is in its place? Leave me a comment and let me know your tips and tricks to staying organized!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
