What I'm Priming!

Amazon Prime is a wonderful thing.  Free 2 day shipping? Yes please! I will say that I’m not a huge Amazon Prime person, but I have most definitely been using their service a lot this summer. Now I don’t grocery shop or anything like that on Prime. I will however buy things that I don’t need, or think I need.  (haha!) I used Amazon Prime at the end of the year to buy my school kiddos their end of the year treats. I’ve also used it just recently for Bible school when we needed solar paper for a craft we did. I will occasionally buy some Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers on Prime as well. Here are a few things that I’ve recently purchased on Amazon.

I just purchased a Yumbox and a pink Blender Bottle. I’m trying to streamline my breakfasts and lunches/snacks, so those two items were on my list. (Reviews coming in the weeks ahead!)

One of my favorite things to purchase from Amazon are books! They are super inexpensive, and of course the selection is great. I’m one of those people who need a physical book to hold, I can’t do it on a kindle or iPad. I’ve bought several books on there for Bible studies that my friends and I host. (Book reviews, and Bible study get together posts coming as well!) A couple of books that I just recently got were Enough, by Sharon Jaynes and God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea by Rose Chandler Johnson.

So, so, so good.
I usually don’t place an Amazon order without purchasing Terrapin Ridge Farms hot pepper bacon jam! Listen, I’m on my third jar. It’s THAT good. I first came across it when I was on vacation in South Carolina with my friend. I didn’t buy it then, but when I went back in a couple months with my parents I picked some up, and have been buying it ever since. It’s not spicy, but has this delicious smoky bacon, with a tinge of heat flavor. It is amazing on chicken sandwiches, and absolutely divine on burgers! *Just do yourself a favor and buy this. Trust me.*

Another one of my favorite purchases has been Oalka leggings. They are a great quality, Thick, tight, and the color range is fantastic! I think I will definitely be buying more. Plus, the price point was great too!

What are some of your favorite things to buy on Amazon? I'm always open to new products, so let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar...
