February 2014 Ipsy Bag

My Ipsy bag came filled with makeup for me to try this month! I always love getting my bags each month, and this month was no exception. Here is what my bag had inside!

City Color: Be Matte Blush- I have never tried a matte blush before. I think this will be perfect for my oily skin! I received the color Fresh Melon, and it is a mix of coral and orange. I have only swatched this, but I think it can either be applied with a light hand, or built up to a fuller coverage. On my pale winter skin, this will make me look healthy, and on tan skin this will look so great!

Zoya: Odette- This purple neutral is absolutely gorgeous! This would definitely be appropriate for work, and the upcoming Spring season! (If it would ever get here!)

Dr Lin: Acne Spot Corrector- As a girl who suffers with acne, I could always use a spot corrector! I am really excited to try this and see how it words on my acne prone skin!

POP Beauty Lipstick: Peony Petal- I am going to classify this as a full coverage liquid lipstick. This has incredible pigmentation. The color is a dusty rose or a dark mauve color. The cap has a rubberized feel which I like.

Tini Beauty: Cream Eyeshadow in Ambrosia- This is one product I am excited to try. I usually am not a fan of cream eyeshadows, but this has a primer built into it. So we will see about the staying power of this. This color is a brownish-taupe with a hint of purple in it.

As always, the bag was staying with the Valentine's Day theme and is pink with pink animal print on the inside.

As always, make sure you stay tuned for reviews of these products.

What did you get in your Ipsy bag? Leave me a comment and let me know! I'd love to hear from you!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

It's Been Awhile...

I love all things faith, family, fashion, sports, and food related. Which is exactly what you will find on this space. I love to travel even though I don't do it nearly enough.  I don't know if I am going to commit to a full 5 days on here yet. I'll play it by ear, and if you'll stick with me, I think we can do some great things here!  I...

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar...
