Weekend Recap: Indians Game Edition

As a true Indians fan, this will always be Jacob's Field
Baseball is one of America's great pastimes. Thanks to my parents, I grew up a Cleveland Indians fan. 1995 was a huge year for us! My family and I sat through many games, cheering on the team, and making all kinds of memories. We almost made it to the World Series, something that hasn't been done in Cleveland since 1948.

In 2007, my family and I went to 7 Indians games. The Tribe made it to the American League Division Series. We were up 3 games to 0 on the Red Sox. Well, wouldn't you know that those darn Red Sox won 4 games in a row. Made it to the World Series, and won the whole thing?

This game that we went to on Saturday was a combination of many. First, they were celebrating the 1995 team because it has been 20 years since that incredible season. (That made me feel incredibly old because I was 7 when all of this was happening. AHH!) Second, this was our first game in EIGHT YEARS! I guess it has taken me this long to get over 2007. One of my favorite players Jason Kipnis is batting!
My dad had to work, so we left the house later than we would have liked, but we were in the ballpark an hour before game time. Since we had not been to a game in so long, we walked around the ballpark to find the food. Haha! We finally settled on a hot dog that was topped with grilled peppers and onions. When in Cleveland, you MUST get the Bertmans mustard. It is simply the best!

Unfortunately, the Tribe lost, but we had a great time! We got a 1995 Celebration t-shirt, and saw some great fireworks! In my opinion, Cleveland has the best ballpark fireworks! We enjoyed our game so much that we are already planning on going to another game!

If you are ever in Cleveland, I would definitely head on over to Progressive Field. It is a downtown ballpark with ample restaurants and a lot of parking!

What is your favorite ballpark to go to? Have you ever been to Progressive Field? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
