Day Trip Essentials

I am going on a bus trip to Columbus, OH tomorrow. My aunt, uncle, my uncle's nephew, and I are going to see the Penguins take on the Blue Jackets! I have packed a few essentials that I feel are needed for a day trip, and wanted to share them with you!

Cosmetic Bag- We are leaving at 12:00 pm and not returning home until 1:00 am. So it will be a long day. I wanted to pack some makeup essentials that can help me freshen up. I am using my Tibi bag that I got with a Birchbox purchase! Here is what I packed!

  • Blotting papers
  • Powder and retractable brush
  • Hair tie*
  • Hairspray*
  • Contact case and solution
  • Glasses
  • Wide tooth comb
  • Travalo*
  • Wet Ones
  • Wisp
Mini lunchbox- With bottled water and some healthy snacks inside! (KIND bars, nuts, rice cakes, etc)

For this trip, I will be using my cross body purse that I got from Marshalls. The brand is Giani Berini. It is light, small, and can hold just enough. I will also be taking my camera, so I can share the experience with YOU!

I will be housing everything in my Baggu Duck bag. That way I don't have to worry about losing anything, and I won't have to carry 4 bags on the bus.

If you are wondering how I style my hockey jersey, you can find that post here! Look for a recap of the fun trip on Monday!

*Denotes items in my purse
*I will also post more pictures of my essentials on the post on Monday!

Go Pens!

Have you ever traveled to see your home team in a different setting? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
