Favorite "Apps"

Let's face it, we live in a digital world. We are connected to our smart phones, tablets, and laptops. I'll admit, I Google almost everything. Here are a few of my favorite "apps" that I can't live without.

Facebook: Is there a person that isn't on Facebook? It is such a good way for people to stay connected. Everything is on Facebook. I mean marriages aren't official until it's on there right?  ;)

Twitter: Is it bad that I check Twitter first thing in the morning? It is my source of celebrity gossip, sports news, and music events. I love that you can tweet someone and there is just that off shoot chance they will see it and tweet you back. Luckily, I've had quite a few big names tweet me back...and yes, it perks up my day.

Groupon: I'll admit, I was skeptical the first time I heard of Groupon. After reading some reviews and talking with family members who have used it, I love it. I was able to book a 60 minute facial for $12. That's awesome! They have some great hotel deals, beauty deals, and deals on items you never knew you wanted until you saw it on Groupon. If you're frugal like I am, this app is for you!

AAA Mobile: This app gives you access to directions, and local hotels, restaurants, and attractions. If you are out on the road and looking to settle in for the night, just pull up the AAA app and put in your location and it will tell you the nearest hotel.

QVC: If you are as addicted to QVC as I am, then this app is for you! You can search by designers, or category. You can also order right from the app! They also have a companion app the QVC Beauty app where you can search all of your favorite beauty items.





The Weather Channel: This is essential to any smartphone! I check the weather on this app before I go to bed so I can have an outfit planned in my head for the day. Keep in mind I also watch the news and use the app as a cross reference. As often as the weather changes, this is a good app to keep handy!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. It's Been Awhile...

 Hi! Do you remember me and this little blog? I've been thinking about starting this blog back up again, and I am just going to jump in with both feet and go for it! In the past what, 4 years since the last post, I have learned a lot, and have a lot to share!
