September Ipsy Bag

Being the beauty and makeup lover that I am, when my friend told me about Ipsy, I had to give it a try. This is going to be an experiment on a "Battle of the Subscription Service" blog. I will go over the comparisons between the two on a separate blog post.

Ipsy comes once a month, and instead of coming in a box it comes in a pink foil mailer. One thing I like about Ipsy is that you get a new makeup bag every month!

This month the bag was a beautiful royal blue with black pattern flowers. I really like it!

Here are the products that were in my first Ipsy bag!

John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo and Conditioner-This will come in handy in a travel case. These are great size, and I can definitely get a good 3-4 washes out of the sample.

Starlooks Eyeliner in Obsidian-This is a pencil eyeliner that draws a nice black line. This is a full size. I normally don't wear black eyeliner, but I have been experimenting with different eyeliners lately.

It's So Big Mascara by Elizabeth Mott- I am always willing to try a new mascara! I am excited to try this, and see if it is volumizing!

NYX eyeshadow in Sparkle White- This is my first NYX eyeshadow. The color is white with some sparkle to it. Hence the name. Haha! This eyeshadow will be good in the winter during Christmas...maybe not so good for everyday because of the shimmer. This is also a full size I believe.

Overall, I am excited to continue to get this Ipsy bag for a while. Ultimately after a few months, I would like to decide which subscription service I enjoy the most, and cancel the other one.

So if you get an Ipsy bag, I'd love to hear what you got in yours! Leave me a comment!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
