A New Goal

Sorry for the lack of a blog yesterday, subbing has kept me pretty busy!

I have a new goal that I want to attain. I would like to complete the Color Me Rad 5k in June of 2014. I have seen some of my Facebook friends pictures as they completed it, and it looks like so much fun! However, this 26 year old is overweight, and out of shape. (Yes, I said it!)

I plan to take on this challenge gradually. I want to make small changes every month to not only my food habits, but my exercise habits as well. Examples include, cutting out pop, eating less bread, eating less dessert. Not going back for second helpings, doing squats and crunches. Moving more. Then in April, I want to begin the Couch to 5k program to prepare me for the 5k.

It is going to be challenging, but I want to do this. Not only to lose weight, but to get healthy, and improve my self confidence. At the end of every month, I will be giving you an update on what change I did for the month.

I hope you will either join me or support me through this journey.

My November change is: I am going to give up drinking pop during the week. I will only allow myself to drink it 1 day on the weekend.

Have you done the Color Me Rad 5k? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...
