October Birchbox

After a long day subbing, nothing makes me happier than coming home to my Birchbox. My mood brightens instantly and I am anxious to tear open the box and see my goods! Here is what I got in my October Birchbox and my first thoughts.

Bain de Terre| Macadamia Oil Nourishing Conditioner- This has macadamia, and argan oils to make hair soft and shiny. I love trying new conditioners, especially when this one is so good for your hair.

Liz Earle| Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser- This is a new discovery to me. You gently exfoliate using the muslin cloth to polish your face.

Liz Earle|Muslin Cloths-This is the essential ingredient to the cleanser. I am excited to try this instead of a washcloth to cleanse my face.

Pop Beauty| Aqua lacquer-You know how I feel about lip products! Even though this looks like it is in tube form, there is a wand inside with a spatula silicone applicator. The color is sheer red, but not
over powering.

Chapstick|Hydration Lock- This promises to give 8 hour moisture. I can't wait to try this at bedtime and see how this works! Birchbox also said you can use this as a primer for your lips!

What did you receive in your October Birchbox? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (we li

YouTube-a-palooza

*Warning: this will be a long post, and picture heavy!*  :) Strictly based on the title alone I should have caught your attention! Sunday was the Alex Goot concert. It was at bar in Pittsburgh, and there were about 5 acts to the show!  You definitely got your money's worth! I went with my cousin, Allie (you can find her blog here! ) and it was just a fun girls night! The show was in a bar which used to be an old church, so it was very pretty inside. We got there around 6,  parked, and only had to stand in line for 10 minutes before we got to go inside. When we went in, we got our tickets scanned and  BAM , there was Landon Austin and Luke Conard at their merchandise table. So, because I somehow gained oodles of confidence*, Allie and I went over and I said "Hi Landon!"  He said "hi" back and asked me my name. I had a card for him so I handed it to him and he asked if he should open it now or later. I said that it was up to him. We moved on to Luke Conar
