What's In My Overnight Bag

I recently went on a quick overnight trip, and wanted to show you what was in my overnight bag. The photo I have doesn't show everything, but you can get the general idea.

I took a workout/lounge outfit. Just so I don't have to wear my pj's all the time. Next, I took a pair of Skechers, because they are the most comfortable pair of shoes. They also go with the lounge outfit! Then I brought a low pair of moccasins and a pair of wedges. You never know when your feet are going to start hurting! As far as the outfit goes, you will have to check back and see "what I wore!"

I packed my favorite Equate cleansing cloths, a mini hairspray, and paper mask. I made sure to pack my contacts and glasses, which I almost forgot! I also have my trusty toiletry bag, which I always keep full of the essentials: deodorant, toothbrush, bodywash etc. Believe me, this little purchase has came in handy on more than one occasion. I was only gone one night, so I didn't need to take a lot, just the essentials.

I want to let you know about my bag. I absolutely love this bag! I ordered it off of Etsy, and the shop's name is Simply Embroidered. I bought this with the intention that since I am in these weddings, I'm going to need a good tote bag to lug all of my stuff around. It is a less expensive version of the LL Bean Boat Tote, but the quality is superb! I an trying to not monogram anything until I get married, (whenever that may be!) because I LOVE a monogram! Be forewarned, when I get married, I will be a walking monogram! Haha!

What do you take on an overnighter? I'd love to know! Leave me a comment and tell me!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
