Weekend with the Amish

It was the yearly Amish Benefit auction on Saturday. This is otherwise known as Amish donut day! Man, those things are delicious! Since my mom and I go to the local produce and flower auction, we have gotten to know some of the Amish. So it was cool to see these Amish men waving to us, because we have been going to the auctions for so long.

Some of the big sellers on Saturday was a red wagon to pull your kiddos around in. It went for $425! Also, pocket watches were going for $175. As usual the flowers were gorgeous, and the food was delightful!

I took some pictures of the event to share with you!

These sweet boys were watching the quilts being auctioned.

Can you see why it is hard to only eat one of these? Goodness, these blow Dunkin and Krispy Kreme out of the water!

This quilt was absolutely beautiful! For the Amish being plain people, the work they do with quilts and flowers is colorful and beautiful! (I wish I would have known how much this sold for!)

I've said this before, but if you have Amish in your area, please support them! Not only is the quality ten times better than what you have in the store, but you might also make some friends, and get to see a completely different way of life!

Have you ever bought any Amish goods? What did you buy? I'd love to hear from you, leave me a comment and tell me!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...
