Friday Favorites

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! Chances are, I am on my way to a local resort with my parents, to spend the weekend with my aunt and uncle. I have never been to this resort before, so I am going to take a lot of pictures, and do a weekend review when I get back! I am linking up with Andrea today to share with you some of my Friday Favorites!

1. I may have squealed right in the middle of Wal-Mart when I found these! Listen, I watch the ESPN family of networks on the daily. So when I found these gems, my inner (well, my outer too) sports nerd just did a little happy dance! I wonder if I take these to a sporting event, if I could sneak in and be a member of the "media." Actually, touring ESPN, is on my bucket list. Plus, I'd love to be an ESPN reporter!

2. Did you see my post on the day I wanted to build an ark? It is quite the story, so if you haven't read it, you can find it here!

3. Tuesday was my parent's 31st wedding anniversary. I took them out to dinner and met the rest of my family there to celebrate!

4. On Wednesday, I was so close to watching my very first no hitter for the Indians. Carlos Carrasco had one going in the 9th inning, but he ended up losing it. :( The good news is that I got to see some of my Tribe on TV for a change!!

I hope you all have a safe, and enjoyable 4th of July weekend!!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

What about you? How was your week? Leave me a comment , I'd love to hear from you!

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
