What I got for Christmas

I love seeing what everyone received for Christmas. I received some really cool products, so I want to share those with you! I will break these into categories, to make it easy to read. Here's what I got! Entertainment: Dinner for Schmucks DVD : I can't tell you how much I love this movie. My dad and I laugh so hard until tears come down our faces. Date Night DVD : Again, this movie is hilarious! It never gets old, and you find new things to laugh at every time I watch it! The Christmas Card DVD : This is probably my all time favorite Hallmark Channel Christmas movie. I watch it every single time it is on TV and I know I will probably wear the DVD out. The Chew What's for Dinner cookbook : I watch the Chew everyday that I am home, and love most of the recipes that they make. Plus, the banter between Clinton, Carla, Daphne, Mario and Michael is hilarious! Carla Hall Cooking with Love cookbook : This has those Southern down home recipes that are just delicious co...

Christmas Traditions

Wow, I have been a terrible blogger this past week haven`t I ? Sorry about that. Blame it on the Christmas busyness. I have some fun Christmas posts coming up so be on the lookout for that. I am a traditional person. Christmas is no exception. My family always teases me that we are going to change things up, and I always shoot them down. These traditions have been going on since I was a little girl, so why change them? On Christmas Eve, we always have some type of cheese filled pasta. This ranges from stuffed shells, to manicotti, to lasagna. Always homemade of course! My grandma always gives me a Nutcracker on this day as well. (I collect them!) Christmas Day, we always have hard boiled eggs, home fries, and ham for breakfast. Recently, I started making my breakfast quiche and that has added to the tradition.  When I was a little girl Santa would always put an orange in my stocking, even now there is always an orange in my stocking. There is always an angel on the t...

Staying in Budget at Christmas

Image found here Also, the amount of money I DON'T have!  Haha! Christmas season can be rough on your wallet. Between buying gifts for your kids, parents, co-workers it can really make it run dry. I pretty much hate spending money, so this is always a tough time of year for me. This year, I did things a little different. I set a budget. I took about $160 dollars to buy presents for my family. I have stayed within that budget, but I still need to buy for my parents. Which, I will have to add just a little bit of money to what I have left over. So all together, I have bought presents for my aunt and uncle, 2 sets of grandparents, and my great grandpa. All that is left, is my parents. (Why are they so hard to buy for?) I bought some presents online, and I set aside $40 (the total of the bill) to be used when the credit card bill comes in. That way, I won't go over budget and spend that $40 and be scraping around for money when the bill comes in. This system has really ...

December 2013 Birchbox

Another month, another Birchbox! Who doesn't love receiving mail in today's technological age? Her is what I received in my box! Camille Beckman | Body Butter- As soon as I opened this, my mom claimed it. She loves a rich body butter, and the scent is slightly musky. Mally | Lip Magnifier- I am SO excited to try this! I've wanted to try Mally Beauty for a long time. This lip crayon is in the color Soft Nude, and applies very glossy. *After trying this on, it is too light for me, however I will be using this to tone down some brighter lipsticks, or underneath a lip liner!* Nelson j Beverley Hills | Argan Oil 7 moisture Healing Mask- This mask is said to nourish dry color treated, damaged hair. I love hair masks, and I am excited to see how my hair feels after using this! Skin & Co Roma | Truffle Therapy Anti Aging Serum- This was another sample my mom claimed! She is always looking for a new anti wrinkle cream. The Lifestyle Extra this month is a candle fro...

High Five for Friday

Friday rolls around, and it is getting closer and closer to Christmas! I'm linking up with Lauren today, as usual! *Sorry for the lack of pictures this week guys!* 1. I had a birthday on Wednesday! Unfortunately, that day was kind of crappy, so I am instituting a birthday redo today! 2. I pulled out my favorite ear warmer and wore it already! It has been bitter cold here! 3. I am doing pretty good with Christmas shopping this year. Now, if only the stuff I ordered online will get here soon! 4. Season 3 of Farm Kings premiers 1 week from yesterday! I'm SO excited! 5. Mom and I are baking Christmas cookies today! What did you love this week? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Favorite Christmas CD's Part 2

If you missed part 1 of my favorite CD's for Christmas you can find it here ! Here are five more that I enjoy listening to during the holiday's. I absolutely LOVE Michael Buble's CD entitled Christmas . He does duets with The Puppini Sisters, Shania Twain, and Naturally 7. My favorite song on this album is Cold December Night.  David Archuleta's Christmas from the Heart has a nice blend of upbeat songs, and slow songs. He also does an incredible job on Ave Maria. Amy Grant's Home for Christmas is one that I almost always listen to first when I pull my CD's out. I was first attracted to this CD because it has Grown Up Christmas List on it which is one of my favorite songs. I also love Breath of Heaven.  Let the Yuletide Ring has the entire Nutcracker Suite on it. As a Nutcracker collector, I had to get the entire suite on CD.  The Martin's Light of the World is by far my favorite Christian Christmas CD. They do Christmas like only t...

Favorite Christmas CD's Part 1

In my opinion, there is nothing better than Christmas music. I have found myself listening to the same CD's year after year. I wanted to share my favorites with you! I have a lot so I am splitting this into 2 parts! You can never go wrong with Christmas music. I have a wide range of favorites, and I'm sure one of these will suit your Christmas mood! *NSYNC's Home for Christmas is a great upbeat Christmas CD. My favorite song is the ever popular Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday's. They also do a great job on O Holy Night, which is acappella. 98* This Christmas is also one of my absolute favorites! If you are proposing to your girfriend on Christmas, you will want to play This Gift. It is an absolutely beautiful song perfect for the occasion! Jingle Bells is all instrumental. I love putting this on for Christmas Eve and listening to it as we eat diner. Disney's Christmas Collection are Christmas songs like only Disney can do it! I'm 26 and I still lo...

Favorite Christmas Home Scents

I absolutely love my Better Homes and Gardens wax warmer. It melts the wax cubes beautifully,  and perfumes the entire area with a delicious scent. I found the warmer at Wal-Mart for $15 and the wax melts for $2 for 6 cubes. I think the Winter scents are my favorite, and in my area, I could burn them until at least March! Frosty Peppermint Snow: I ABSOLUTELY cannot be without this scent. It is an icy peppermint that is very subtle, and not overpowering at all. The only problem that I find is that this scent does not last long. I can't get enough of it! Chocolate Peppermint Truffle: If you love Andes Candies, you will love this scent. It is an exact match to the candy. It is the perfect blend of chocolate and mint, and it is not too strong. Caution: this might make you want to snack on Andes Candies!! Cinnamon and Spice: This scent is very homey. It isn't a strong scent, but it doesn't fade in the background either. This scent lasts forever, and even when the warmer...

Favorite Winter Nail Polishes

These nail polishes are a good mix of many different colors. My mood depends on if I want to wear a darker color or a lighter color for my nails. Here are my favorites for Winter! L-R Giovanna, Ruby Slippers, Kendal, Shay, Kelly, Champagne Zoya Shay: This is in every single one of my favorites, because it is a great neutral. It is the perfect mannequin hands shade for me. It is a beautiful pinky/peach with a hint of metallic. I love it! Femme Couture Ruby Slippers: This is my go to Christmas Eve and Day nail polish. It is a deep red with lighter red glitter. It is absolutely gorgeous, and perfect for Christmas! Zoya Kendal: This is a wonderful Winter neutral. It is full coverage in 2 coats. This is probably the lightest purple, which makes it a great neutral. It goes with anything, and you can't tell that it is purple. Zoya Kelly: This is a wonderful purple/blue/gray neutral color. It is dark and sultry, and I love this with Essie Set in Stones as an accent nail. ...

High Five for Friday

Friday, you are here again! It is lovely to see you! I am linking up with Lauren , as usual! Here is what I loved this week! 1. I worked 4 days this week subbing, and I had to leave at 2 for a doctors appointment today. The plus: I get to eat Olive Garden for dinner! Image found here 2. I just learned that I am going to go see Donny and Marie in concert the day after my birthday! I'm SO excited!! 3. Have you started your Christmas list? I definitely need to! Tell me that I'm not the only one who makes Christmas lists to use as "hints" for my family. Image found here 4. I found this cool way to address my Christmas cards! I'm doing it this year! 5. This week, I am glad it is Friday! How has your week been? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you! Comment away!

Tortilla Soup

Image found here For some reason lately, my soup of choice has been tortilla soup. I've had it at a couple restaurants, and both have been different. One style has been broth based, and another tomato based. Both were very good, but I preferred the broth based soup. I should also mention that I LOVE Mexican food. I make a mean enchilada bake, which I usually make for Cinco de Mayo. Mom and I love to can our own pico de gallo (which would be awesome on top of tortilla soup!) So basically this post is going to be a pre-post to an upcoming post. I found the Pioneer Woman 's recipe of Tortilla Soup, and I decided that I absolutely have to make it. It looks delicious! I will make sure to fill you in on how it goes! Do you have a favorite tortilla soup recipe? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment with your favorite recipe!

Christmas Gifts for "The Others"

I entitled this post Christmas gifts for "The Others" because you know you always have those people that you don't know what to buy for them. People like hairdressers, co-workers, and maybe your child's teacher. I pulled these ideas from my Pinterest page. These gifts are small, and relatively inexpensive, so if you need to make multiples of this, it will not break the bank.  How adorable is this? This is just a cute way to decorate your gum.  Who doesn't love a peppermint sugar scrub? This can be made in bulk and be gifted to many different people. Plus, it could be done in a few hours on a Saturday.  I thought this gift would be adorable for a child's class. Who wouldn't love to munch on "Reindeer Noses", and Rudolph's nose?  What woman doesn't love getting nail polish and matching socks? I know I would! This would be great for your hairdresser or child's teacher! Can you see yourself giving some of these gifts? If you...

Bain de Terre Nourishing Conditioner Review

I have been trying this new conditioner out and I have been loving it. I received this in an Ipsy bag, and was pleasantly surprised. This conditioner has macadamia oil, and argan oil. It is paraben free. This conditioner is thinner, but don't let that fool you. It is incredibly moisturizing. I put this on and leave it on for 2-3 minutes and when I comb my hair out, it is so soft and manageable. I also find that I don't have a problem with styling afterwards. Another aspect that I love about this conditioner is that is smells incredible! It is so fresh and sweet smelling.  You can buy this at Ulta or locally! Have you ever tried this conditioner? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know! P.S. Sorry for the blurry photo.    :(

High Five for Friday

It is Black Friday. Are you going shopping? I don't think I am, but I might participate in Cyber Monday!! Large crowds of angry people all vying for a specific item does not appeal to me at all. Here is what I have loved this week! 1. I made homemade pretzel buns for the first time! They were really good, and so easy since I made the dough in the bread maker! 2. It snowed here, and it is absolutely gorgeous outside. I love when the snow sticks on the trees. 3. There was a two day marathon of Farm Kings on Wednesday and Thursday. I've watched every episode, but it never hurts to re-watch them!!        ;) 4. I ate way too much yesterday, as I usually do. Plus, we have tons of leftovers! 5. As much as I ate yesterday, there are two things I am craving right now: Chipotle, and a turkey sandwich on a fresh roll with mayo. YUM! Did you link up with Lauren ? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Happy Thanksgiving

Image found here I'd like to wish all of my readers a Happy Thanksgiving. Take time today to list what you are grateful for; big or small. There is a lot of sadness in the world, and today is a great time to reflect on what we have. I'm thankful for many things, but having a loving family and wonderful friends top my list. I'm also thankful to have my health, when so many around me do not. From a blogging standpoint, I am thankful to my readers who read my blog, even during times of no posts! Enjoy being around those you love today, eating good food, and being grateful. What are you thankful for this year? Leave me a comment and let me know! Stay tuned for a "What's on my Thanksgiving Plate" post!

Today

This is just a quick post for you today. I know the weather is a little treacherous out there, so please be careful if you are traveling. If the roads get bad, pull off and take your time. Safety is at the up most importance. Safe travels everyone!

Sally Girl Connecting Compact Eyeshadow Review

I don't go into Sally Beauty Supply often. I will stop in maybe once a month but I almost never buy anything. This last time however, I did end up buying 3 of the Sally Girl Connecting Eyeshadows. Initially I had my eye on the Revlon Shadowlinks, but read some poor reviews. These reviews said that the Sally Girl shadows were of better quality, so I wanted to give them a shot. Plus, they were only $.99. YES! You know I love a good beauty steal! I chose three colors, Beige, Rich Mocha, and Gun Metal. Beige is just that, a matte beige color. This color would be best described as medium flesh toned. Rich Mocha is a medium brown with micro glitter. I don't notice the glitter much when it is on my eye. Gun Metal is the strangest name. It is a satin white, but beautiful highlight color. The quality of these eyeshadows are good. I noticed that they do need several swipes of the brush to attain the pigmentation I desire. These are a little bit harder than a Wet N Wild eyeshad...

Be A Bombshell Lipstick Review

Red lipstick and Thanksgiving/Christmas just go together like PB&J. There are so many variant shades of red, that you can never have too many reds. I received the Be A Bombshell lip crayon in Hot Damn in my Ipsy bag for November. When I saw the color, I knew that this will be a well loved favorite for the holiday season. This was also my first experience with Be A Bombshell lipstick! Hot Damn is a pure red with micro glitter. You absolutely cannot feel the glitter on your lips. This lip crayon has a waxy texture. I believe that the texture makes it perfect for it adhering to the lips. I love that this lipstick doesn't feather outside of the lip line (again, probably due to the waxy texture). This has very good staying power, and leaves a slight stain behind. This product also does not need sharpened. I also love this paired with the Aqua Lacquer by POP Beauty in Splashing Scarlet. How I would wear this: I would pair this with a matte nude eye, with classic black liner...

High Five for Friday

I know I have been the worst blogger these past two weeks. I have had some some sub jobs, and no time to write ahead in my posts. I promise I will get better, I'm still learning to balance between blogging and jobs. Image found here  I am linking up with Lauren like I usually do on Friday's! 1. The district I subbed for this week starts school at 7:35. It's early BUT, the students leave at 2:20. I could leave at 2:45. This makes me happy. It was nice to not leave at 4:00. 2. I plan on having an at home spa day this weekend. I need to use a face mask and a hair mask, plus I need to paint my nails! 3. My goal for this next week is to get a lot of blog posts written up for this month, and part of next month. 4. I have a new found love of hummus. I tried the Sabra Roasted Red Pepper kind, and it was seriously delicious! I recommend it! 5. What is everyone making for Thanksgiving dessert? I might make a chocolate pecan pie! If you link up, I'd love to hear...

Put A Lid On It Review

This post is a review of a new favorite eyeshadow primer. I have been using this primer by The Balm, and love the consistency, and staying power. The Put A Lid On It primer has a silky texture. It is colorless. I apply a small amount of this on my eyelid, blending all the way to my brow bone. Then I apply my shadows. By using this primer, my shadows apply smoother and last longer. This also goes on clear, unlike some primers. The Balm always knocks it out of the park when it comes to packaging. I received a full size of this when I purchased my Meet Matte Nude palette. *I have oily eyelids. This doesn't give me all day wear, but it definitely helps them to last much longer than usual.* What are your favorite eyeshadow primers? Have your tried this one from The Balm? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment !!

Seasonal Dilemmas

Now that it is definitely Fall/Winter, I have had some issues with my skin and hair. Both are extremely oily. Which is causing me to break out, and have disgusting hair. I wash my face twice a day, and try not to wash my hair on the days I won't be leaving my house. I still get extremely oily. I want to hear some of your tips on controlling the oil. I use my dry shampoo, but should I use a clarifying shampoo? I need your tips and tricks. I can't be a total grease ball! Have any of you struggled with this? I'd LOVE to hear your tips, leave me a comment and let me know.

November 2013 Ipsy Bag

I'm going to go out and say that this bag was absolutely over loaded with products! It was awesome! I have really been loving my Ipsy bags. Here is what I received in my bag this month! Starlooks Gem Eyeliner Pencil in Topaz: This is a beautiful icy blue color. This color will be great for the Christmas season. I'm glad this was in my bag because I usually don't stray from my everyday brown, or purple, or black liners. This will help me to break out of that rut. I only swatched it, but it applied very smoothly. *This is full size.* Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched: This is my first Pixi product! I have looked at Pixi products at Target, but never purchased before. I swatched this, and while it isn't overly pigmented, I think it will make a beautiful highlighter. It gives just enough sheen. TRESemme' Tres Two Hairspray: I love this hairspray. and I love having the mini for travel! It has a great hold! Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Champagne: I straight u...

High Five for Friday

Friday is here again! It is always a wonderful way to bring in the weekend. Here is what I loved this week. 1. I made another visit to Freedom Farms. I bought some apples, and bread. 2. I absolutely loved my Birchbox and Ipsy bags this month! The Ipsy review is coming tomorrow! 3. I am subbing today and I got to wear my jeans to school. I love days like that. 4. I just want it to be Christmas, because I have some amazing posts for you already planned out! 5. I discovered that McDonald's iced coffee with caramel is AMAZING! Thanks, Lauren for the link up! What about you? How was your week? Leave me a comment , I'd love to hear from you!

KMS Free Shape Review

I wanted to do a quick review of the KMS Free Shape Hot Flex Spray. First, some background. My hair will hold a curl, but they definitely lose their shape after a while. I have to use some type of hair product to make them stay perfect. I absolutely love Redken's Spray Starch, which my stylist told me is discontinued. I received this KMS Free Shape in a Birchbox, and I have tried it out. Here are my thoughts! I like this product. It isn't sticky like hairspray, and definitely holds my curls. KMS is light, and doesn't tangle my hair when I spray it in. It doesn't make my hair greasy, and I like the scent. I love that a little goes a long way with this! I love that my hair is not crunchy after putting this in. (There are too many I's in that paragraph!) Would I repurchase this? Maybe. I currently have a lot of Spray Starch left, and will probably use what is left of the KMS for travel. I don't use these products every day, so a bottle will last you a long time...

November 2013 Birchbox

I swear that little pink box can cheer me up anytime! I wasn't feeling well when I received this, but looking at the goodies inside instantly cheered me up. Here is what was in my November box! Color Club |Nail Polish: Dark N' Stormy- Oh this color is absolutely gorgeous! It is a beautiful dark gray, that is slightly metallic. I envision this with a sparkly accent nail, and it will look absolutely Fall/Winter like. Dr. Lipp |Original Nipple balm for Lips- This was originally used for new mothers to help with nursing woes, but they swear by this stuff. Who wouldn't want an emollient balm for your lips for the dog days of winter when your lips are super chapped? I'm excited to try this out! It's a 10 |Miracle Leave In Conditioner- SO, SO, SO excited about this! I have heard rave reviews about this product, but never have tried it! You readers know how much I love to try different hair products! Definitely be watching for a review once I have had time to sample t...

Wet N Wild Finds

I was browsing through my local Ollies, and stumbled upon a gift set from Wet N Wild! You know that I am a big fan of their products, so I was so excited to get my hands on this! It is a set of two six pan eyeshadow palettes, and 2 lip liners. They eyeshadow palettes that they had were Greed and Lust, both of which I have come to find out are discontinued. I was instantly drawn to these palettes because they each contained 3 matte eyeshadows. The box said that there was an eyeliner and brow pencil in the kit, but there were two lipliners in mine. This is probably one of the reasons they were on Ollie's shelves. Once I get to experiment with this palette, I will do a review on them and maybe a photo tutorial! Have you ever found Wet N Wild products at your local discount bargain store? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

UniqOne Hair Treatment Review

There are many times that I wish I didn't have to heat process my hair as much as I do. I give it a break when I can by not washing it, and using heat tools on it everyday. I also try to use a hair masque once a week that gives it some sheen and healthiness back. I received the UniquOne Hair Treatment to try, and I wanted to give you my thoughts! The consistency of this is like a conditioner. It is nice because you can spray it into the palms of your hands and run it through your hair, or spray it all over your hair. It is a leave in treatment that helps prevent split ends, increase shine, and repairs your hair. This also acts as a detangler. I spray some on the palms of my hands and smooth it down the sides of my hair. This way, it catches the fragile pieces that are damaged and helps to repair them. I blow my hair dry, and style as usual. After using this product, I like that this is a leave in treatment. It also doesn't leave my hair greasy, or hard to style. I have no...

Tip for Growing Out Your Bangs

Image found here I am growing my bangs out. I've had them for over two years and it is time for a change. If you've ever grown out your bangs, you know what a frustrating process that can be. They are either in your face all the time, or crunchy from copious amounts of hairspray. I discovered a trick that not only keeps your bangs out of your face, but avoids the crunchy hair feeling. Here's how you do it! 1. Style your hair as usual. For me, this includes putting my bangs in a velcro roller to curl them. 2. Once your hair is styled, remove the roller if necessary. Then separate your bangs by pulling the top layer up. 3. Spray a spritz of dry shampoo on your bangs as if you were doing it to absorb oil. 4. Run the dry shampoo in, smooth bangs, and apply hairspray. That's it! The dry shampoo gives your bangs texture. I found that this helps prevent my bangs from falling into my face and I don't use as much hairspray. The dry shampoo acts as a binder, help...

Chapstick Hydration Lock Review

Image found here The weather is getting cooler, and chapped lips are bound to happen. I usually apply lip balm to remedy this problem. I received this ChapStick Hydration Lock in my October Birchbox, and have been trying it out for you! So far, I am loving it! The scent is Vanilla Creme, and although the scent is faint, it is still there. The chapstick glides on smoothly, and is very emollient. I apply this at night, and wake up with the balm still left on my lips. This promises 8 hour moisture, and I definitely agree with that. This is not a waxy type lip balm either. ChapStick Hydration Lock also contains the antioxidant CoQ10, and hylauronic filling spheres. This would make a great lip primer for those drier lipsticks that you may have. This smooths out your lips perfectly! If you like the matte lipstick look, but hate how some of them feel on your lips, try this lip balm underneath. I definitely think I will be repurchasing this again! I have seen this at Wal-Mart for und...

Week in Review

Another week passes, another week in review post! Can you believe it is November already? Where has the time gone? These posts are a great way to catch up on what you might have missed! I met the Farm Kings . They are unbelievably nice, I can't say it enough times!  Even in today's digital age, I like to read an actual magazine. Here are my favorites! A blog post is not complete without a lip product! Here is my new favorite combination ! Like always, I linked up with Lauren on Friday! Here was the best part of my week! Let me know what your favorite post of the week was!

High Five for Friday

It is a windy Friday here in Pennsylvania today. It is a good day to wear a hat. Here is what I loved this week! 1. I got called into substitute yesterday. Yes, on Halloween. The kiddos were already pretty excited, and trick or treating didn't even start! 2. I have begun the Summer to Fall clothes switch out. It isn't my favorite thing to do, but I like rediscovering my closet with the Fall and Winter clothes. 3. The local weatherman made his Winter weather predictions. Looks like we are going to get a lot of snow in February! 4. I am subbing all next week, I should plan my outfits and lunches out! 5. If you haven't seen my post on it yet, I finally met the Farm Kings! I am already plotting my return visit before the home market closes for the season! I must get more Honey-crisp apples and apple cider! What did you love this week? Thanks to Lauren for letting me link up with her!

New Favorite Lip Combo

I wanted to share a new favorite lip combo with you! This is a good neutral pink color that goes with everything. You need 3 products! Image found here L'Oreal Fairest Nude lipstick is probably as light as I would go, as far as nude on my lips. Starlooks lip liner in Tickle Me Pink is a mauve-y pink that applies smoothly. Model Co lip gloss is a beautiful light pink gloss that isn't sticky. To create this look, I lined my lips with the Starlooks liner. I filled in my entire lips. Then, I put a light coat of Fairest Nude on top of the liner. Then, I add a sheer coat of the Model Co lip gloss. This combination is a go to neutral for every day use. I like to use this for days when I can reapply, because it isn't long wearing. You can use any type of sheer pink gloss for this look. I just happen to have the Model Co on hand. Have you ever tried layering different lip liners and lipsticks? Leave me a comment and let me know!

My Favorite Magazines

Even in today's digital age, I still like to pick up the occasional magazine or two. Here are a few of my favorites. I receive Taste of Home monthly. The recipes in this magazine are easy, and use ingredients you most likely have on hand. I have made so many recipes from this magazine, and have yet to find one that I haven't liked. I also receive Women's Health . I like this magazine for the information it provides. Not only does it give me beauty advice, but it also gives relationship advice, recipes, and exercise information. Woman's World I almost always pick up at Wal-Mart. I absolutely love this magazine. It is an easy read, and has recipes, and beauty tips in it as well. However, it also contains short stories that will lift you up. What are some of your favorite magazines? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Mandii Meets the Farm Kings

If you follow my twitter account at all on Thursday nights, you know how much I love the reality show on GAC called Farm Kings . They are a group of 9 brothers, 1 sister, and a Mama Bear, who own a market, bakery, and restaurant, not to mention a farm! Plus, as an added bonus, they are about 20-30 minutes from my house! The show chronicles living as a farming family in today's world, the family dynamics of a large farming family, and running successful businesses and farm. (How many times did I just use the word farm?) If you also watch the show, you know that they are also one good looking side of beef. (I'm not talking about the cows, people!!) I digress. The King Kids (in order of birth): Joe, Elizabeth, Tim, Pete, Dan, Luke, Sam, John, Paul, Ben. Well, I explored all that is Freedom Farms during their Fall Festival. First, we went to the home market, where we saw all of the fresh produce. Not only did they have the produce, but they had meats, eggs, and soups fo...

Week In Review

Here is my second Week in Review post! Here are a few of my posts from this week! Do you get lazy about taking your makeup off? I do! So I tried these cleansing cloths ! I really like them, and I love the convenience factor! These lip stains from Jordana are so pigmented! I absolutely love them! Plus, they are super cheap! I created a new goal for myself! Time to get fit and healthy!! As usual, I linked up with Lauren for High Five for Friday! Here is what I loved for the week! Let me know what your favorite post was!

High Five for Friday

It is a chilly Friday here in PA. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm linking with Lauren , just as I normally do. Here is what I am loving this week. 1. It snowed briefly here. I don't like it. It is too soon. In fact, I still haven't put my Summer clothes away. I had better get started on that... 2. My family had our first Buckwheat pancake dinner of the year. It is a tradition that when it gets cold, that is what we have for dinner. Plus, can you go wrong with breakfast for dinner? 3. This is the weekend that I am going to see the Farm Kings. I'm so pumped! 4. Cashew was looking too cute after his bath! 5. My month and a half streak of no lunch duty ended on Wednesday. It was SO good while it lasted!! That is the most stressful time of the day for this sub! How has your week been? I'd love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know!

A New Goal

Sorry for the lack of a blog yesterday, subbing has kept me pretty busy! I have a new goal that I want to attain. I would like to complete the Color Me Rad 5k in June of 2014. I have seen some of my Facebook friends pictures as they completed it, and it looks like so much fun! However, this 26 year old is overweight , and out of shape . (Yes, I said it!)
