May Birchbox

My May Birchbox is here! There are a few things I am excited to try out this month. *I haven't tried any of these products yet, but when I do I'll be sure to let you know what I liked and didn't like!*

Coola| Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer- I think in the summer you could always use an SPF that is specifically designed for you face. I'm anxious to see if it will break me out or if it will help hydrate my skin as well.

Sumita| Color Contrast Eyeliner-When I swatched this on my hand, IT DID NOT BUDGE! I am going to try using this for my waterline and see its staying power on there. I'm excited to use this on a hot summer day and put its staying power to the ultimate test.

Klorane| Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk- I haven't experimented with other dry shampoos a whole lot, so I'm hoping this will help me branch out! I love my Suave dry shampoo, so I am looking forward to seeing how this compares to that brand.

Marvis| Classic Mint Toothpaste- I think I'm going to like this. I like minty fresh breath so hopefully that fresh feeling lasts. However, I'm concerned that when I do try this I will develop a cold sore. (Any time I switch toothpaste, or even some lipsticks can break me out in a cold sore. We'll see.)

The Birchbox find this month was the Pilot Acroball Pure White pen. I'm a pen person so I can't wait to use it! From what I can tell so far, it writes really nice and smoothly! To me, it is the perfect check writing pen! (Am I the only one who still writes checks? Haha!)

What did you get in your Birchbox? What were you most excited to try this month? Please leave me a comment and let me know!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
