March Birchbox

My March Birchbox arrived! If you don't know about Birchbox, it is a $10 a month subscription service where you get 4-5 deluxe beauty samples. I look forward to mine every month, and while some boxes are better than others I do enjoy it. Here is what I got in my March box!

Nick Chavez Color-Saver Sulfate Free Shampoo. I have never tried a color saving shampoo, but I think it would be really useful when I highlight my hair for summer.

MAKE eyeshadow in Burnt Umber
MAKE Eyeshadow in Burnt Umber. This is a deep dark brown color that will be perfect for deepening the outer V, and smoking out my liner on my bottom lash line.

MAKE Face Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30. I am excited to try this because I have bever tried a primer with an SPF before.

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in the blueberry scent. I'm also excited to try this, it is not your traditional foam shaving cream.

Madewell emery board
Madewell for Birchbox emery board. The floral pattern is so pretty, and who doesn't need an extra nail file for their purse?

If you've never heard of Birchbox go ahead and click on the link!

If you get a Birchbox every month, tell me what your favorite sample is that you have ever received from them!

Cooking for a Crowd: Spaghetti Sauce

My family likes to save money when we have parties. One way to do so is to cook everything ourselves, instead of hiring a caterer. Today, I wanted to give you a recipe for spaghetti sauce that will feed a crowd. This recipe is best made in an 18 quart roast pan. We bought most of our sauces and tomato paste at Costco. Ingredients: 2 onions 3 cans diced tomatoes 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce 1 #10 can on spaghetti sauce 1 heaping tsp of garlic minced 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes 4 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste 1 tsp sugar Onion and garlic salt, italian seasoning, parsley, oregano to taste 1 pound of each: ground meat, hot and sweet sausage Look at the deliciousness!  In a skillet brown your meat and sausage in a little oil. Once browned place off to the side. Combine your onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. *Sweat your onions down first, then add the garlic. Then your tomatoes.* Open your tomato sauces and spaghetti sauces (w...

Christmas/New Year's Recap

First, I just want to say that I have absolutely no pictures from Christmas. I'm terrible, I know. In my defense, I was sick all through Christmas and just wasn't feeling "it." I do however, have pictures of some of the gifts I received and New Year's. Christmas Eve dinner was hosted by my parents and I. We had lasagna, wedding soup, salad, bread, and Italian butter. I made a homemade alfredo sauce to go along with the lasagna. I also made the Italian butter, and attempted to make my homemade French bread. This year, the bread did not turn out. For dessert, I made white chocolate raspberry shooters. They were SO good! I will do a recipe on those when I make them again! After everything was cleaned up, we honestly just relaxed. I would have liked to have gone to Christmas Eve service at our church, but I was coughing, clearing my throat every 5 minutes, and blowing my nose every 10. I was a hot mess. My grandparents came back out to our house after church and w...
